OVERVIEW

 

The MIC200-UV/IR2 flame detector combines the latest ultraviolet and dual infrared detection technologies to provide fast, accurate, and reliable fire detection, as well as improved anti-interference against the wrong light source to effectively detect flames from a longer distance. The MIC200-UV/IR2 detector is equipped with two infrared sensors and one ultraviolet sensor, which has the advantages of fast reaction time and high sensitivity.

 

The MIC200 - UV/IR2 Flame Detector monitors for radiation emitted by a flame in both the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectral ranges. This UV/IR2 combination provides a fast response time and increased false alarm immunity against sources of radiation for reliable protection.

 

The MIIC200 - UV/IR2 flame detector provides ultra-fast response, high performance and reliable detection of a large variety of fires including hydrocarbon fires (visible and nonvisible), as well as Hydrogen fires.
The detector addresses slow growing fires as well as fast eruptions of fire using improved UV/IR technology. The detector operates in all weather and light conditions.

 

Depending on the user's sensitivity and delay time, the MIC200-UV/IR2 detector can effectively eliminate false positives and is adapted for use in high-risk industrial environments. In addition to the general application, it is especially suitable for railway locomotive fire extinguishing, military armored vehicles and ships explosion suppression, hydrogen combustion flame. The explosion-proof case of the MIC200-UV/IR2 detector can be firmly and accurately installed both indoors and outdoors. The highlighted LED can show the status of the detector, and its automatic testing function can ensure that the detector can fully play its function at any time.

WHY USE UV/IR FLAME TECHNOLOGY

 

There are two main flame-sensing technologies used today: ultraviolet/infrared and multi-spectrum infrared (MSIR). A UV/IR flame detector consists of an ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) sensor paired together within a single instrument. While the UV sensors detect the UV radiation-emitted flames, the IR sensors monitor the infrared emission spectral band around the 4.3 to 4.4 micron range – the predominant radiant emission band for hydrocarbon-fueled fires.

 

The only alarm source shared between the two sensing technologies is a real hydrocarbon fire – a key benefit of UV/IR detectors. Adding advanced signal processing algorithms ensures this combination detector delivers outstanding performance to a wide range of flammable liquids, gases, and volatile solids while simultaneously providing enhanced false alarm immunity far superior than either a UV or IR sensor alone.
